Heippa kaikille.
Jos seuraat some:a, erityisesti instagramia, olet varmasti huomannut että täälläpäin usein puhutaan "Sunday Fun Day:sta".
En siis aio höpötellä sen enempää, antakoot kuvat puhua puolestaan :).
Täällä kaikki hyvin, eletään päivä kerrallaan ja nautitaan elämästä! Toivottavasti aurinko koti Suomessakin alkaa pikkuhiljaa näyttäytyä!
Hyvää viikonloppua! <3

Crossfit Open is now closed.
That was a lot of fun, but happy to say that it´s finally over ;). Now we can go back to our regular training and work on what needs to be improved.
Last time I told you guys that we were gonna compete in Florida Open, in Miami, where our first workout was going to be 16.3.
WORKOUT 16.3
Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 7 minutes of:
10 power snatches
3 bar muscle-ups
10 power snatches
3 bar muscle-ups
Men use 75 lb.
Women use 55 lb.
Women use 55 lb.
I did not try out this workout before the competition. I just knew that my strategy was going to be one bar muscle-up at a time to avoid no reps. The plan worked out quite well for me. I did the snatches unbroken every round and break up the muscle ups. Just because muscle ups are my weakness and needed to be worked on more, I was happy with my score. I completed 6+5 rounds.
The competition in Miami was fun. It was cool to compete with my "Master Peach" Jamie :). We did great as a team. It is always fun to go in and compete in small indoor competitions like this. You meet new people and see fitness at its best :).
We also had four other athletes competing from our box. Jakub competed on Saturday in the individual scale male division. Jonathan and John partnered up in the scale male division and coach Reyna competed with a friend of hers in the scale female division. So Crossfit Key West was representing with an awesome crew :) We had a blast.
WORKOUT 16.4
Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 13 minutes of:
55 deadlifts
55 wall-ball shots
55-calorie row
55 handstand push-ups
55 deadlifts
55 wall-ball shots
55-calorie row
55 handstand push-ups
Men deadlift 225 lb. and throw 20-lb. ball to 10-ft. target
Women deadlift 155 lb. and throw 14-lb. ball to 9-ft. target
OMG, are you serious?!:D This workout was going to be something else. Three of my least favorite movements put in one workout, lol. This was the one that I dreaded doing. I left it to the really last minute. Though I have been working a lot on my deadlifts, that´s still a movement I feel like I struggle with. When it comes to wall balls and rowing, didn't like those either. So the only thing I actually liked in that workout was the handstand push ups, which were last. My luck of course, lol. Before I did 16.4 I read up on different strategies from cross fitters who already had done the workout. I knew to break up the deadlifts and the wall balls. My goal was to come up to at least 25 repetitions on the handstand push ups.Women deadlift 155 lb. and throw 14-lb. ball to 9-ft. target
So let me tell you how this all went down. Not a smart thing for me to do, but that is what you get from leaving it to the last minute. I did the workout after celebrating my birthday the whole weekend before. This is something I never do, and I hated myself for that. There was no other choice then to get it together and go for it.
What surprised me was that the deadlifts and the wall balls weren´t that hard after all. If I would have done it twice I sure would have speeded up the deadlifts with longer unbroken sets. The hardest part was the rowing for sure. So going into the handstand push ups with a high heart rate was not easy. The burn I felt in my arms was something I never experience before.
So what did we learn from this? Don´t dehydrated yourself from partying a whole weekend before a crazy open workout, lol :D.
I was still quite happy with my score. I came up to 36 handstand push ups, 201 reps. If I have tried it out on the Friday before, I sure would have came up with a better score. Again, "should have, could have, would have".
When the last workout, came out I think everyone was done. 16.5 was the new 14.5. With that been said, this workout was already in the Open 2014. So people who participated in the event two years ago knew how it was gonna be.
WORKOUT 16.5
21-18-15-12-9-6-3 reps for time of:
Thrusters
Burpees
Thrusters
Burpees
Men use 95 lb.
Women use 65 lb.
Women use 65 lb.
What a crazy workout it was. You just have to dig deep and keep on going. When it´s a high endurance workout with light weight like this, you really have to know how your body works best. For me a workout like this would bring the blood taste in my mouth and ringing sound to my ears, and that was exactly what happened, lol :D. Again, this was a workout I would not do that again. Once was enough.
"MOMMY, IT`S OVER!!":) As I said, this was really cool and interesting to do. We are also proud of all our members that participated!:)

Overall, I'm pretty darn proud of how I did my first year in the Open.
Of all the boxes in the Keys, Crossfit Key West, Crossfit Mile Zero, Crossfit Key Largo, I am Crossfit and Upper Keys, I could hold on to my first place. How cool isn´t that? :)
What suprised me was how good I did in South East and Worldwide. This inspires you to work even harder.
Now let´s concentrate on 2017 ;).
Happy fit weekend everyone!:)
